Job Objectives:
  • To efficiently and effectively run the accounts and finance function, produce on-time accurate management and financial accounts in line with the company’s accounting policies and procedures.
Responsibilites:
  • Supervise accounting staff & give them directions to use the company systems, policies, procedures and forms.
  • Manage the daily transactions of accounts which include preparing accounting vouchers (receipts, payments, journal vouchers etc)
  • Supervise and update the cash position of the company and manage the transactions of cash and banks (withdrawals, deposits etc.)
  • Manage and supervise project accounts, which means updating projects costs (material, labour and expenses) and also issue the reports to the finance manager.
  • Co-ordinate with procurement and purchasing to organize payment to suppliers.
  • Follow up with Project Managers for monthly billing and ensure has current information on all financial progress for the project.
  • Follow-up with clients about collection and receipts.
  • Maintain account registers in computer as per company policy and systems, to manage the entries and do the posting accurately, especially the third party accounts.
  • Oversee the payroll process and ensure that it is generated on time and properly recorded.
  • Ensure that all accruals are done as per the company’s country of origin laws and company’s policies
  • Ensure that adjustments and reconciliations of all accounts (banks, suppliers, inter-company accounts etc) are conducted without delay.
  • To issue updated and correct reports every end of the month. i.e, in every period revenue and costs must be specific and also to cut off the period (month or year) revenue and cost.
  • Depending on above point the chief accountant must record all accruals and prepayments of the periods to show every period with its revenue and cost accurately.
  • The chief accountant must follow up all revenues / income and cost on daily basis and he must inform finance manager about any mistake or fraud before he record anything.
  • The chief accountant must take financial controller’s approval on all entries, reports, payments and all documents in advance before taking any action.
  • The chief accountant must report to the financial controller and he must not give any report or document to any other party without the financial controller’s approval.
  • He must be honest and must keep the secrecy of the company accounts and he must give the information to the financial controller and he must not accept any instructions from any other party out of his boss (FC’s) permission.
  • The chief accountant must issue the trial balance of the company as per the company policy, in summary and in details end of every month and year and he must discuss it with the Financial Controller and he must help the financial controller to issue all reports, especially monthly financial package, analysis, statistics and other reports.
  • The chief accountant must supervise stocktaking of fixed assets and inventory and also cash counting as per the policy and he must keep the register and issue the reports of stocktaking.
  • The chief accountant must take the instructions of the external auditor through the financial controller and he must provide all requirements of the external auditor to issue the balance sheet early and accurately.
  • In the absence of the financial controller, he must co-ordinate with his superior to manage the finance department with approved schedule by the financial controller, GM and the CFO
  • He must be liable to the instructions of the CFO through his boss and he must use the chart of account, the budget, policies and procedures and also the reporting system, which was approved by the CFO and he must not change anything without the Financial Controller’s and CFO’s approval.
  • He must control, monitor and use the legality of the financial documents and the law of the country / location.
  • Generally the chief accountant must co-ordinate with the other department of the company and he must see the daily operations in details to maintain the finance department records and reports.
  • The chief accountant should have experience in contracting or construction industry.


Qualifications:
  • Thai national
  • Degree in accounting is a must
  • Minimum 5-6 years experience in accounting
  • CMA/CPA/CA status is preferred
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English both written and orally
  • Computer literate to an advance level
  • Experience in common accounting and spreadsheet software applications is required
  • Good leadership skills to lead and work with a team
  • Knowledge of ERP system desirable.
